Record the primary VIN first. Fields marked * are required.

Enter VIN manually, or use Scan barcode if your browser supports camera barcode detection. USB/Bluetooth scanners usually type into the VIN field.

Automatic progress reminder

When enabled, the system checks every hour and sends an email after 48 hours without progress while the problem remains open. It repeats at most once per 24 hours until progress is updated or status becomes Closed. Email sending requires the scheduled reminder service to be configured.

Record changes are attributed to your signed-in account. Upload only relevant evidence images.

Manage dropdown options

Super Admin can add or disable station and vehicle-model choices. Disabled values remain in historical records.

Use Disable instead of deleting values that may appear in old records.

ECN / EWO library

Upload the source document. Engineering Hub will store the original and automatically extract searchable text and metadata.

Automatic import

Choose a PDF or Excel file and import it. The original file is stored privately; readable PDF text and Excel cells are extracted into the database. The system automatically detects possible document number, revision, title, model, part number, change dimensions, dates and VIN breakpoint. Extracted values are best-effort and must be verified. Scanned/image-only PDFs are stored, but require OCR for automatic text extraction.

Select a source file only. No manual metadata entry is required. Max file size 15 MB.

Original documents are saved in private storage. Extracted text is searchable. Verify extracted details against the source document before using them for technical decisions.

Record before/after part verification at the production line, with VIN traceability and actual pictures.

ECN verification setup required

Run the supplied ECN verification migration in Supabase SQL Editor before creating records. Existing Engineering Hub data is not affected.

Only Super Admin can add, edit, or delete master options. Deleted options remain recorded as text in historical reports.

Import an Excel or text-based PDF part list. Part names will be suggested automatically when a matching part number is scanned or typed.

Work Instruction Management

Manage Handal Engineering and Maintenance work instructions, controlled revisions, versions, and source files.

Controlled WI documents

Each upload creates a revision-history entry. Previous versions stay available for download until the WI is deleted by Super Admin. Supported formats: PDF, Excel, Word, and CSV; maximum 15 MB per file.

Office files may download instead of previewing in your browser.
All WI fields and document upload are optional. Creator and uploader identity are recorded from your signed-in account. Previous uploaded versions are retained.

User management

Create and manage Engineering Hub accounts without opening Supabase Authentication each time.

Administrator-only access

Super Admin maps to the existing database role admin. Engineer / Member can create and manage engineering records. Viewer is read-only. Passwords are handled through the protected server function and are never stored in the profile table.

Add user

Create a login account and its active Engineering Hub profile.

For new accounts, set a strong initial password (12+ characters) and deliver it privately. When editing, leave password blank to keep the current password.

Engineering Problem & Solution Record

Record primary VIN by manual entry or barcode scan, vehicle model, station, process, machine, problem breakdown, affected VINs, root cause, containment, corrective/permanent action, evidence photos, repair PIC, verification, VIN breakpoint and email reminders. Super Admin can manage model/station dropdowns.

ECN / EWO control

Upload an Excel or PDF file to store the original and automatically extract searchable text and likely metadata. Verify extracted values against the source; scanned PDFs require OCR.

Access roles

Super Admin manages accounts and all records through User Management. Engineer / Member can create and update engineering records. Viewer is read-only. Only the protected admin-users server function can create or modify login accounts.

Operational data protection

Follow your company’s data-classification policy. Never place service_role or secret keys in browser code. Keep RLS enabled. Confirm backup and restore, retention, access controls, and service availability with IT before expanding operational use.
